Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - General Vascular Surgery

Schedule: Full-Time Day Shift, 3 (12) Hour Shifts Required

About The Unit:

Our Vascular Department, a 23-bed unit, cares for patients from ages 35-85, commonly experiencing diagnoses such as cholecystitis, pancreatitis, vessel disease, and kidney failure disease. Kidney transplant patients are unique to this unit. We see patients on the unit prior to and following renal transplant. Patients experience abdominal surgery, revascularizations, vascular bypass, carotid endarterectomy, and laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgery on this unit. Anti-thymocyte globulin ( Rabbit Juice ) injection is unique to this medical surgical unit and in treatment of our kidney transplant patients. This is a great unit for growth and development as one will see a variety of patients, increasing one's nursing experience and knowledge. The knowledge and skills acquired on the Vascular unit can prepare nursing staff for a position in specialty care, as team lead, or in management (among others).

What You Will Do:

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required:
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.


  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
