Objective:

To bolster the organization's sustainability commitments by strategically planning, managing, and coordinating sustainability initiatives within the region.

Sustainability Management:

  • Oversee the organization's sustainability initiatives and enhancement plans.
  • Establish key objectives and targets to drive environmental and sustainable engineering solutions across multiple manufacturing sites in the region.
  • Identify and develop projects aimed at cost savings, sustainability improvements, or those aligned with specific client-driven sustainability goals.
  • Collaborate with the ESG committee to create initiatives supporting the company's sustainability vision.
  • Monitor and track the status of sustainability projects, regional goals/initiatives, KPI trends, and conduct regular project status reviews with the leadership team.
  • Manage the regional compilation of carbon, energy, and water data from NA sites for global reporting purposes.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with sustainability-related subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, manufacturers, designers, and clients to advance common sustainability goals.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in sustainability charrette meetings for new projects focusing on sustainability.
  • Stay updated on market and industry trends in sustainability and resilience, including updates to rating systems and codes.
  • Participate in external organizations, conferences, and events to engage with the community, continue learning, expand programs, and develop business opportunities in line with the company's sustainability vision.
  • Support the preparation of capital expenditure (capex) demands by providing cost details once finalized.
  • Evaluate projects/installations post-implementation to ensure compliance with capex requirements.
  • Assist in soliciting bid proposals, consulting with suppliers, and reviewing quotations.
  • Source and obtain pricing information from catalogues or vendors and assist in preparing purchase orders.
  • Support procurement of general and specialized equipment, materials, or business services for organizational use.
  • Assist in negotiating contract terms and conditions and recommend contract awards to the Director of Engineering and legal team.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field with a focus on sustainability management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sustainability management.
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks such as the UN Global Goals, ESG, and GRI standards.
  • 5 years of experience in sustainable engineering, maintenance, or process roles within manufacturing plants.
  • Knowledge of the food manufacturing industry is advantageous.
