The position of Payroll Specialist primary responsibility will be to manage and oversee payroll for USA and Canada offices. This position is considered a non-manual position for purposes of federal wage and hour laws. The Payroll Specialist will be held accountable to ensure proper tax treatment, accounting, and managing withholding and benefits in payroll system. This role must exercise independent judgement and discretion in planning and carrying out payroll procedures and methods.

Your Duties
  • Manage and oversee all duties of company payroll for USA and Canada
  • Work closely with Finance, Human Resources, and corporate Finance Team to ensure smooth operations of payroll department
  • Process regular payroll information on a bi-weekly basis as well as bonuses, commission and off-cycle checks wen necessary
  • Keep up to date on payroll processing system and changes in wage/tax laws and apply all changes as necessary
  • Respond to all payroll-related inquires and resolving concerns in a timely manner
  • Process all new hires and terminated employees
  • Assist with annual merits, increases, position changes, and retroactive calculations
  • Process wage garnishments and child support documentations
  • Oversee time and attendance in payroll system
  • Prepare and run all payroll reports as needed
  • Maintain annual leave in payroll system and master sheet
  • Maintain all master data related to payroll and personnel costs
  • Oversee company 401(K) retirement administration
  • Handle all 401(K) and payroll audits
  • Respond to tac and unemployment agencies in a timely manner
  • Handle al unemployment claims
  • Process promotions, rate changes, terminations, bonus payments, auto allowances, garnishments, vacation/ sick/ overtime and all other aspects of payroll
  • Maintain all personnel information in payroll system
  • Continuously work to improve payroll system and process
Your Profile
  • High School Graduate
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or business-related field
  • Experience working with payroll software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll practices
  • Preferred 3-5 years of payroll experience
  • Prior experience with multi state payroll a plus
  • Highly motivated and results driven
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Able to work independently and meet payroll-related deadlines
  • Ability to handle complex problems during critical times
  • Work well under pressure and ability to multitask
