We have an excellent opportunity for a Part-Time Support Worker to join our Service based in Lowestoft on a permanent, part time basis (30 hours per week). Weekly working hours consist of morning, afternoon/evening working shifts with sleep-ins including working weekends and bank holidays. You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £60.00 for any sleep in shifts carried out. The payment for sleep ins is non-contractual. About the Service Elm Tree Road West is a bungalow with four bedrooms and is a supported living service where two ladies and one gentleman currently live. The gentleman we support is non mobile and non-verbal, he loves having a laugh and he also loves Norwich City football club, likes to watch football. He also likes to go and about and socialise with people and have fun. He would like to have someone who can drive to take him out. One of the ladies we support is mobile and can communicate although this is not always clear. She loves cats as she has a cat of her own. She has her own car and would like her new Support Worker to be a driver so she can go out and about in the community. The other lady we support is verbal but is blind and is looking for her new Support Worker to provide her with a lot reassurance and enjoys having fun! What does a Support Worker do? As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include: Supporting people to live independently budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals. Excellent communication skills and Relationship building supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships. Community & Social Inclusion - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality. Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day.This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
