MRO STOREROOM TECHNICIAN

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Demonstrate organizational ability for maintaining inventory records. Requires ability to check stock and to communicate orally and in writing.  Provide assistance to customers' which involves such duties as answering telephone inquiries, checking stock items, locating items, etc.  Confer and correspond with customers, vendors and others to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications.
  • Checks in and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.  Knowledge of material handling, solving material problems, and inventory control issues as they arise.  General warehouse duties as needed, including cleaning, sweeping floors, etc.  Operate lift truck or use hand truck to move shipments from shipping-and-receiving area to storage or work area.  Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Takes personal ownership for working safely and motivates others to maintain a safe work environment.  Self-motivated, comfortable working as an individual contributor and as a team player in a lean environment.
  • Support the plant with overtime as required and willingness to work a rotating shift.
  • Perform other duties as needed in support of the plant.

REQUIREMENTS

  • GED or High School Diploma

  • 2+ years of experience, preferable in a manufacturing inventory control environment. 

  • Requires the ability to pass a pre-employment test, background check and physical including drug and alcohol screen.

  • Basic mathematical skills to perform inventory control procedures. 

  • Ability to work overtime and willingness to work a rotating shift. 

  • Prior experience operating lift truck or hand truck.

  • Elementary knowledge of store room methods and procedures, shipment methods and the ability to keep simple receiving and shipping records.

  • Must have physical ability for receiving and storing inventory items. Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds, load, deliver and store goods and supplies.

  • Proficient computer skills with knowledge of MS Office & capable of updating computer generated inventories and documents, Enter purchase order receipts into computer system and print receiving tags.

  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills and attention to detail/accuracy.
