Respect Integrity Service Excellence The role: Logistics/Porter The purpose of our Logistics/Porter is to work within BT's brand-new Head Office located in Aldgate East. The building is 18 floors of office space and includes an EE retail store, café, and catering space. The building will be home to approx... 3500 people. The challenges that are presented with the building location and local council require us to manage deliveries in and out of the building. The team will support with the flow of goods and items into, around and out of the building. Controlling the loading bay booking system, waste management as well as deliveries for a retail space, back of house teams and support any events going on in the building. Key responsibilities are as follows: Plan site setup to move labour, plant, and materials around site efficiently (e.g., security, material delivery, waste management strategy, cleaning, catering, and post). Support the planning of events logistics including loading and unloading of equipment and supporting the move around the building to the correct space. Signing in events contractors and supporting with events planning and logistics. Support with the launch, use and training of the loading bay management system. Responsible for all traffic management internally and externally and loading bay cleanliness as well as reporting and managing issues or breakdowns of equipment in the area. Control materials in and out of site. Plan and integrate with key contractors to meet the needs of the planned programme and deconfliction of onsite space and time where appropriate. Support in the evaluation of appropriate delivery management booking systems. Support the management of subcontractors to deliver their package of goods or services Support sustainability through clear and concise management on site of all waste movements and supporting with recycling initiatives. Manage the waste service provider and look to improve on service delivery working with all Facilities teams across site. Person Specification: Excellent motivational and influencing skills, with high levels or personal integrity. Organised, able to prioritise and deliver within high pressure, business critical environments. Able to work effectivey as part of a team. Excellent communication and customer service skills with a high level of attention to detail. Ability to seek out opportunities for continuous improvement and portray vision, values and passion.
