Job Summary

Responsible for the administration, processing and data integrity for one of the specialized areas within Garnishments, Tax or Payroll Accounting.

Hybrid Schedule: Targeting 1 day onsite in Santa Ana, CA per week

Essential Functions- Garnishments & Tax
  • Compile payroll data and statistics to main area of specialization
  • Review, maintain and ensure accurate interpretation of state and federal tax regulations, court orders and legal requirements for area of specialist
  • Accumulate and organize information to ensure accurate reporting to federal, state and local agencies
  • Prepare and create standard and ad hoc reports
  • Reconcile related payroll information for funding requirements
  • Support the eWorkforce service center through phone call or service ticket creation
  • Keep abreast with multi-state payroll laws and those relating to specific field of specialization
  • May perform other related duties or ad hoc projects within the scope of responsibilities
  • Maintain desk procedure documentation for auditors and internal transitionPayroll Accounting
  • Assists in the maintenance of payroll-related accounts and the reconciliation and accuracy of one or more general ledger accounts
  • Prepares various schedules, reports and summaries
  • Assists with periodic internal audits and Preparation of materials for external and internal auditors of various payroll areas
  • Must learn and develop intermediate ad-hoc reporting capabilities
  • May perform other related duties or ad hoc projects within the scope of responsibilities
  • Maintain desk procedure documentation for auditors and internal transition

Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used
  • Fundamental knowledge of area of specialization
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task, prioritize and work under pressure
  • Understanding of HRMS systems and payroll processing best practices
  • Must learn and develop intermediate ad-hoc reporting capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving, independent decision making and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Federal and State related laws
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

Typical Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Typical Range of Experience
  • Typically has 2-4 years of experience in area of specialty with at least 4 years in a processing role
  • Multi-State payroll a plus

License or Certification
  • CPP designation preferred
