A newly created role as the Qualified Tax Accountant. Reporting into the Finance Director. This is a very exciting time to join as the business expands rapidly, along with international growth. As the Tax Manager you will play a really critical part to the business in the ongoing evolution of the finance function in a rapidly growing international business. The role will be responsible for the tax requirements and activities across all territories, ensuring that all filing/compliance requirements are met and that the optimal tax position is maintained.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the effective operation of the tax function within the finance team
  • Manage the filing of the UK Corporate Tax returns, and all related submissions such as the R&D claim, utilising advisors but doing as much in house as is practical. Ensuring that we are fully compliant and optimising the position as appropriate
  • Oversee the preparation of all UK and International VAT returns
  • Assist in the reviewing the group's statutory structure and identify any recommendations to improve the structure and tax efficiency of the group
  • Review the group's tax position, identify any risks, shortfalls, issues and lead the implementation of mitigating action to minimise any impact
  • Support the finance team with both monthly and annual financial reporting requirements around tax provisioning and disclosures
  • Provide accurate tax advice to key stakeholders
  • Implement appropriate control frameworks and policies

Knowledge and Skills/Experience:

  • Qualified 3+ years PQE ACA / ACCA
  • Excellent working knowledge of best practice UK corporate tax law, compliance and reporting
  • Ability to manage external advisors where relevant
  • Driven individual, who is used to working in a rapidly changing environment and who is comfortable proposing, justifying, initiating and implementing change.
  • Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
